Well, it's that time of year again. Time to mark your calendars and commit your time for the Premier NorCal Biker Netscum gathering of the year. What is this of which I speak? Announcing The Sierra Nevada Invitational Foothill Follies (S.N.I.F.F.) '07 Who? Netscum Friends of Jackson Netscum Bikers (TM) When? The weekend of October 12-14, 2007 Where? Why, Jackson, California, again, of course, at the junction of two dotted green lines in yer RMcN (which is a very good thing). Why? Shirley you jest!
Once again this year, the event will be open to any and all who are in a frame of mind to have a good time. All are welcome unless they're arriving with a 'tude. Simple as that. This rule will be enforced. This year, you can expect a lot of the same (especially the same kind of Righteous Fun). And a few changes as usual, none of which should detract even modestly from the merriment. Well, last year we killed off another band, so this year we're bringing in Wingnut Adams, a local favorite in The Big Valley and Foothills. As for the rest of the usual things that you can count on:
* The tab for the weekend is $75 per each (except for children which are $250 per each, see below). Here's how we're going to do the T-Shirts (again). I am going to order shirts for everyone who gets their money in the mail and delivered to me in Jackson by September 15. Send your funds late or show up not prepaid and I won't have a most exquisite S.N.I.F.F '07 T shirt here for you to add to your collection. So, for right now: * Mark S.N.I.F.F. '07 on your calendar. In ink. AND * Make a note to send in your funds. Hell, in fact save yourself future grief and just get 'em on their way. And ensure you get that shirt. Please don't forget to indicate shirt size(s). OK, so here's th' skinny. Just remit those funds ($75 per each) while you're thinking of it and you won't be slapping your forehead as you roll into town and missing out on the T-shirt.
c/o John Herrell 1 French Bar Rd. Jackson, CA 95642 209-223-0374You are welcome to show up whenever you want to from Friday morning on. (Earlier by prior arrangement only, please.) As for kids, they're $250 per each (under 21) except by prior arrangement (in which case it's negotiable). SO IT IS VERY MUCH IN YOUR FAVOR TO ADVISE ME. There will be a few kids around, but this is an adult party, not a family get together. ACCOMMODATIONS Again this year, there's a block of nice rooms set aside for us at the Best Western Amador Inn, 209-223-0211, under the group name: S.N.I.F.F. It's just south of the Hiway 49 / 88 split, and less than 1/2 mile from my house. Rates are going up around here, but once again I got 'em to hold it to $69 -- and with no fee for the room safe <g>. They do fill up, so don't procrastinate your reservation. (You can cancel right up to the day before or so -- something like that.) As usual, there's space available here for those who want to camp. October is usually just as good as it gets around here (and that's pretty damn good). The summer heat is gone. The winter cold's not yet here. With luck, the days will be around 75-85. It doesn't usually rain 'til Nov (but it could). A ride up 88 will deliver gorgeous fall colors, esp up in the Hope Valley. The oldest Thirst Parlor in Nevada (Genoa) awaits. This is the primo time for riding in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Don't miss it.
